If someone enjoys radio controlled hobbies, they almost definitely began with a vehicle. This is because, unlike a boat or a plane, autos will not usually be completely destroyed if the operator makes a big mistake or the engine fails. It is fairly easy to make a simple remote controlled auto, but as you are doing it, you will realize that there is a vast amount to be learned.
As you gain this knowledge, you can make use of advanced techniques to create vehicles that are stronger, faster and more efficient than your previous efforts. You can either throw one together in a few days, or you can spend months creating an astonishing vehicle which has superb speed and handling.
If you are just starting out with remote controlled hobbies, it is almost certainly wise to buy a pre-made, RTR (ready-to-run) radio controlled car. It is possible to purchase these in toy or modeling stores almost anywhere. They may be slow and ungainly and they may not satisfy your technological desires, but they are still a good place to begin. Play with it for a few days, and then take it apart. Look at the way the motors are connected to the wheels, and examine the overall architecture of the car.
After you have understood it all, you will have much better idea when you begin to build your own. You may even be able to use a few parts, such as the body of the vehicle or the radio control apparatus. The motors will almost certainly not be as powerful as you will desire.
Once you have gained this indispensable basic understanding of the way that radio controlled vehicles work, you can start with whatever your next undertaking is going to be. The ambition for most people is to build a model car from wood or plastic, install the electrical components, paint it, affix decals, and get it looking as good and running as well as possible. Others may want to construct an extremely fast remote controlled vehicle in order to show off to associates. But no matter what you want to do, you will only be able to achieve it, if you take it one small step at a time and become skilled at everything there is to know about remote controlled pastimes.
However, there are many different resources that can help you become an expert in remote controlled hobbies. You will almost certainly spend a lot of time reading about all the different details that you require. You can find information and even tutorials on the Internet. For more detailed problems, you could always go to community groups and forums. This is where people from all over the world meet together on the Internet to discuss their hobby, support each other, and boast about their latest achievements. These groups welcome newcomers, particularly if you are polite when asking your question.
Remote controlled vehicles can also enter competitions. If you want to put your car up against those of other enthusiasts, there are different races and shows around the world. A quick Internet search will reveal where nearest event is. You could make a weekend trip out of it and it will be worth it to be around others who are as obsessive as you about what you are doing. These events may include races, or they may just be a get-together to share tips and tricks with other radio enthusiasts. You will be amazed at the amount of information that you can acquire from the people who go to these dos.
It may be daunting at first to start a new hobby, since there is probably heaps of stuff that you probably know nothing about. However, the best thing to do is just get started with the basics and learn gradually.

As with everything else, buying a computer is straightforward if you know what you are doing. For those who do not know though, it can be a total nightmare. People who have used a computer before have a good idea about what they require and what they would like, but for those who have never had a computer before, all the components that make up a computer can appear bewildering.
The obvious answer is to buy the best that you can afford, but this still might confuse some people, because the best is not always the most costly. In the computer world, ‘the best’ normally means the biggest and the fastest.
Just to make it more confusing, ‘the biggest’ here does not always mean in size, but in capacity. The only large size that is important is the monitor. This is a quick rundown of how to purchase a computer and its components:
Before you buy a computer, think about why you want one. If it is for educational purposes: that is surfing the web and looking up content, you do not have to have more than a basic desktop computer. If you are constantly on the move, then you might require a laptop, or maybe cyber cafes will meet your requirements.
This sort of machine is also sufficient for writing letters and emails and almost any type office work. Top flight computers are only required by games players and show-offs.
Purchase a complete computer. That means acquiring a kit of: CPU (the ‘computer’), monitor (screen), keyboard, mouse, speakers and printer. This way you will just have to plug everything in and off you go – you can be sure that they are all well-matched.
When you buy your next computer, you can buy all the components individually to get even better value for money or a system more precisely customized to your preferences.
Go for the largest screen, the fastest memory and fastest hard drive and the biggest memory (RAM) and biggest hard drive (gigabytes) that you can afford. You do not have to have a great deal of ‘space’ for normal office work or normal surfing, but if you get into downloading music or films, then memory soon gets eaten up, although you could always add a new external (plug-in) hard drive later, in need be.
Make sure that you buy a computer that is not too old, if you go second-hand. This is because you can up-grade computers for two or three years, but after that manufacturers change the casings and new components will no longer fit – planned obsolescence, it is known as.
Get your computer from a well-known, reliable local store and ensure that it has a good guarantee. Computers do not often go wrong, but you do not want to have to send it half-way across the country and wait three weeks for it to come back. If you are in business, get two. Perhaps a laptop and a desktop and synchronize the contents of both so that you always have your information.
Following these guidelines will ensure that the computer novice gets ‘enough’ of a deal and an adequate machine that is fit for purpose without paying through the nose.

Most computer users in the United States have heard of the leading American antivirus vendors. Manufacturers such as Symantec, McAfee, Computer Associates, and Trend Micro. These companies have a market leading presence in the United States. Microsoft, too, has aspirations to become a key player in this enormous growth market.
In fact, Microsoft acquired intellectual property and technology rights from GeCad software in 2003, a company based in Bucharest, Romania. They also purchased Pelican Software, which had a behaviour orientated security product, as well as the Giant Company Software for spyware and Sybari Software, which managed virus, spam, and phishing filtering.
A great deal of debate centered on whether Microsoft would end up in a domineering position in the antivirus market by simply bundling its newly acquired software technologies up with its Windows operating systems at no cost. This is a comparable technique that has been used in other markets such as word processing and Internet browsers. In fact, this is precisely what did take place. Microsoft has come out with a free product called Microsoft Security Essentials.
It is too soon for me to tell whether MS Security Essentials is a world-class antivirus product, but it is not free to everyone. Microsoft has been battling Windows piracy for a while now with its Windows Genuine Advantage sneaky download and sure enough, this new product from Microsoft will only work on Windows systems and even then, only with operating systems that pass the Windows Genuine Advantage test. (Please click the link at the bottom the page to find out more).
There is nothing wrong with that per se, but it does mean that scarcely anyone in the Third World will be able to make use of it, because a pirated operating system comes bundled with every computer that I have ever seen in Asia and probably elsewhere too. People save for years in order to be able to buy a computer and the last thing they care about when they plug it in is whether the operating system is genuine or not.
Of course there is a number of other antivirus manufacturers prominent in this market. There are many companies with great market presence in other countries that are starting to become more widely recognized. These vendors include GriSoft from the Czech Republic, Sophos from the United Kingdom, Panda Software from Spain, Kaspersky from Russia, SoftWin from Romania, F-Secure from Finland, Norman from Norway, Arcabit from Poland, VirusBuster from Hungary, Nod from Thailand and AhnLab from South Korea.
It is not yet apparent where the industry is going and everyone in this market faces a swiftly changing scenario. The amount of effort required to discover and deliver fixes for new viruses is quite astonishing. Malware programs are becoming more and more complicated and the quantity of them is increasing.
Many companies may find themselves without the resources to match the efforts of those truly determined to create chaos. The antivirus companies are getting hundreds of new examples of viruses a day! Moreover, the new viruses are getting “smarter” in that they propagate themselves quickly and they often hide themselves too. Some are even smart enough to move around in a system by renaming themselves in an effort to make it hard to remove them.

The Razor kick scooter is the current-day counterpart of the type of scooter that has been about for 50 years or more. In actuality, kids have almost certainly been fixing boards to wheels ever since scrap wheels became available. As with those classic scooters, the Razor kick scooter is propelled forward by foot power. That is, you put one foot on the board and push forward, or in other words kick back on the ground with the other.
This process of movement makes this kick scooter an ideal style of transport, exercise and enjoyment for kids of all ages. In deed, Razor do not recommend a Razor scooter for the under fives unless supervised by an adult and maintain in their handbook:
“Children under age eight (8) should ride with adult supervision at all times. All children and preteens should ride with adult guidance at all times”.
This seems fairly severe to me and is almost certainly an example of over-caution because of the litigious culture we live in. Just try suggesting to a twelve-year that you have to use guidance on all of his or her journeys!
Having said that the Razor kick scooter comes in roughly seven different guises. There is the Kiddie Kick scooter for the under fives. It is constructed of tough plastic and has a third wheel for greater stability.
Then there is the ‘A’ series of Razor scooters: the A, A2, A3 and AW. These models are more or less equivalent to a child’s increase in size, ability and experience, although the heaviest recommended weight for all three models of Razor scooter is 65 kilos or 143 lbs.
The Razor kick scooter Pro is a leap up in technology and so has more facilities. It can be ridden for extreme sport and will bear a rider weighing up to 100 kilos or 220 lbs.
Last, but not least, is the Cruiser Razor scooter. It will carry 79 kilos (175 lbs of weight and has larger wheels as it is intended for laid-back cruising about. The bigger wheels mean that you won’t be conscious of any rough ground beneath you while you are on this Razor scooter.
All of these Razor scooters share comparable characteristics. All of these models of the Razor kick scooter are of very tough manufacture and all but the Razor Kiddie Kick scooter are made of high-grade aluminium and are built to last.
These Razor scooters have extensible steering rods, which means that they can be pulled up to grow with your child or can be used by kids of different sizes. They also share a tough braking system which operates on the rear wheel, rendering them ultra-safe for use in the vicinity of pedestrians.
A Razor kick scooter starts at about $40 and so is an economical way for you to ensure that your child gets frequent exercise, gets out from behind his computer, gets some fresh air and sunlight and learns about good manners while having fun being mobile. Besides all these advantages, a Razor kick scooter will give your child affectionate reminiscences to look back on for the rest of his or her being.

You frequently hear someone say that computers are taking over the world and it is certainly true that a personal computer is a must for any creative individual hoping to establish him or her self in the world. The Internet and the personal computer have revolutionized the world in so many ways that it is it involved in just about all business activity these days.
Because of this, computer repair training is a booming industry too. It is also handy to have some computer repair training oneself. For what would you do, if your personal computer ;with all your valuable information, breaks down on a Sunday morning when all the computer repair shops are shut?
This is why some computer repair training is vital for all experts and students searching for ways to break through to the top. For them, computer repair skills would be a definite benefit.
Information Professionals around the world find that it is necessary to obtain computer repair training. But avoiding computer repair training is a widespread error committed by young executives. The basic computer knowledge gained by computer repair training is essential when you are in a difficult situation. Some executives have understood the advantage of being certified as computer repair training centers.
But aside from executives becoming certified, many young people aspire to become professional computer technicians. It is certainly necessary for young technicians to acquire suitable computer repair training from professional institutes or universities. There are some companies that can trick you into getting certified by an inferior education establishment. This is most widespread on the Internet.
Even though computer repair seems like a low grade job, most people overlook the important fact that a high level of demand is being created by businesses and technology driven organizations which need certified and experienced technicians to help run their business.
Therefore these technicians are well sought after. Although the fact remains that some technicians get fooled by fake colleges and get into bother when they start working for real.
The proper selection of a computer repair training center is therefore imperative for young enthusiasts looking for a good career.
There are different levels of computer repair training available, from basic training to specialization in particular areas of computer repair and technological know-how. The basic training is aimed at professionals looking for some basic training to help them in their day to day business operations. The specialist programs are available for IT Technicians who are looking for higher qualifications.
Therefore, do not waste any more time thinking about computers and the problems they can be and begin looking for a proper computer repair training program at a recognized centre right away.

I have read loads of reviews about scooters and motorbikes, because I am a subscriber to a scooter and motorcycle enthusiasts’ magazine that carries articles about all the different types of scooters and motorcycles on the market. It also recommends the best one to acquire depending on whether you are a first time owner or a two-wheeler old hand. The magazine is great, and it helps me understand what other scooter owners feel about the various models and brands of scooters.
I have to say that people’s views vary quite widely on every subject, which is why it’s probably always better to do your own research and get what best suits you, rather than getting what other people say will suit you, when they do not even know you. Having said that, many first time buyers do not honestly know what they are looking for, and it is really these people that these reviews are written for.
However, these reviews are not meant to be taken too factually, rather they are intended as a guideline so that prospective novice buyers have to ruminate about the aspects of buying a scooter or motorbike. It also gives experts a run down of the most important facts. Then you need to make up your own mind whether you care, for example, whether the scooter’s seat is made of leather or plastic.
All in all, I like this magazine because it considers people from all walks of life, and its writers and editor appreciate that even if you are interested in purchasing a scooter, you may not have enough money or you might be reading just out of interest in scooters or motorcycles.
We all know that money is hard to come by these days, and purchasers are becoming more and more knowledgeable about the merchandise they want, which is a good thing in my opinion. After all, there are other merchants who only desire to get the most money they can for their products and mark up their scooter prices to exorbitant amounts in the hope that they will get a few foolish patrons that did not do their groundwork.
And I am sure that they probably do get a few customers like that, because they do stay in business somehow and I frequently hear awfulness stories about people who have paid far too much for their scooter or motorbike.
When you ask them why they did not take the trouble to read the reviews in a magazine, they usually say that they did not know about the magazines, or even worse, that they did not have enough time. Therefore it seems that they had enough time to work like a dog for the money, but then not enough time to read a short magazine review? I doubt it very much. With a bit of luck, consumers will continue becoming more and more careful about their purchases.
It is such a pity, so, If you happen to be a new scooter fan, or you know someone who is, please make sure you read the scooter and motorbike reviews before concluding a purchase. It can literally save you hundreds or even thousands of your hard earned dollars.

If you log on to the Internet, you definitely need anti-virus software. It does not matter whether you do not use a computer. Whatever you use to get on line you must have anti-virus software. Although there are hundreds of malicious idiots producing viruses to attack those who log on to the Internet from a computer, there is an increasing number who are focusing on mobile phone users as well.
It is harder to clear viruses from your mobile phone as well, because there are less vendors for the anti-virus software and mobile phone users are often less technically savvy than computer users, although the method of clearing the virus is quite analogous.
Let’s just use the example of using computers to go on line. If you go on line, your ant-virus software is your most essential item of software. It does not matter what you use the Internet for – transferring data back to base or reading emails from friends – you are subject to attack.
For example, if you use the Internet only to communicate with your head office, a hacker could try to piggy-back your connection to gain admittance to the mainframe at head office and perhaps access financial or other personal data and if you just send to and receive emails from your friends and family, you are open to assault from malevolent fools around the world.
If you use webmail such as that provided by Yahoo, Hotmail and MSN to name only the most popular, you will be protected from the most obvious attacks, but still not safe. If you obtain your email via an email client such as Outlook or Outlook Express, then you do not even have that small amount of security.
If you do not use email, but only surf the Internet for research or whatever, you are still not safe, because some websites and loaded with viruses, trojans and worms, waiting to unload them onto unwary surfers.
Therefore, whatever reason you surf the Internet for, you need some type of security. Fortunately, anti-virus software for personal use is low-cost and can even be free. Business users will normally get tax relief on their purchases.
However, be cautious with the free anti-virus software, because not all of it is effective enough. The exceptions that spring readily to mind are Avira and AVG. These are excellent items and have rightly achieved worldwide acclaim. Just Google the two names to get the download address.
The anti-virus software that costs something (typically $25-$50 per annum) invariably offer one to two months free trial before you buy and a reduction in price, if you pay for more than one year at a time. Names that fall into this class are Kaspersky, McAfee, Norton and Nod.
Once you have selected your software, the subsequent steps are the same for free and paid software. First install it and then configure it. If you are not certain how to do that do not be concerned, the default settings are fine for the overwhelming majority of users. The only choice you will get that it is vital you make correctly is to allow automatic updates.
New viruses are being discovered or fixed every day and for your anti-virus software to be effectual, you must allow it to update itself whenever it wishes to.

Is your computer’s case or casing of any significance to you? You might be asking yourself the question: why should it be? The fact is that the computer case is vital to the computer itself and also to some people.
Let’s begin from the computer’s point of view. One, if not the main causes of computer failure is excessive heat. Which is why, when computers were first used in factories and large offices, the specialized computer room was cut off from dust and was air conditioned, if not cooled especially. In those days, thirty-forty years ago, computer parts were very fragile and tremendously costly.
Nowadays, they are very, very much less expensive but they are still subject to bother from heat. Excessive heat will warp the boards, especially the motherboard because it is large, inside the computer case. They are not built for these gymnastics and sooner or later the very thin connections soldered onto the surface of the board will fracture and inhibit the flow of electricity. It will die.
In order to inhibit this happening, manufacturers put fans inside the computer so as to increase the flow of air. There are normally at least two in a desktop computer case, one fitted in to the external casing and one directly on the CPU (the chip), which is often the hottest and most expensive single component. In laptops, where air circulation is even more limited, there may be three or four fans.
So, these fans increase the circulation of air within the case in an attempt to cool the chip’s surroundings down. Therefore, it also stands to reason that there must be sufficient space for that air to flow. If it was left up to the computer to design itself, computer cases would be larger and with more fans. A little like you might like to live in a larger house with air conditioning, if money was no object.
Now from the human’s point of view. People agonize more about looks and fashion and about how much space the computer is taking up. Producers have to pay attention to what people would like if they want to sell their computers. People wanted less obtrusive computer cases, so manufacturers made half-size cases; people wanted less noisy computers, so manufacturers put fewer fans in the cases. And the result was unsurprising: computers housed in cases like these broke down more often and the only person who was happy about that was the producer.
There is also a trend towards beauty in computer cases. Acrylic, see-through cases are very popular with gamers. Now games machines are some of the most powerful home computers on the market, because of the power required to run the graphics at a life-like speed.
See-through cases promote the use of size and fans, because they are often themed, which means that the interior may have green, blue, yellow or red LED’s to light it up. So, for instance, when the DVD player kicks in a red LED comes on inside the case. Similarly with fans, which may also be painted. Some of these themed computer cases are ideal for the chips that reside in them and the individuals that own them

Laptop computer reviews represent a very significant font of information for those who are interested in purchasing a new computer to assist them in their occupation or to provide entertainment at home. But being an informed consumer is not an easy job for anybody.
Even though we may consider that we are knowledgeable enough, we may later, discover that we were mistaken in the decision we took. Or perhaps that mistake was made during the period before the decision itself was made? During the research phase maybe?
The rule of thumb is to try and read more than a few laptop computer reviews more before you consider you have gleaned enough information to be able to do what you need. Why is that so important?
To start with, laptop computer reviews are written by people who are paid to write quite a lot of reviews perhaps even in one single day. As a result of this, whether the writer wants to or not, he/she may end up saying pretty much the same thing about almost every laptop computer or even just glossing over the details.
Or, she/he may end up leaving pieces of information out. Making mistakes is pretty widespread in human work when fatigue and boredom enter the picture.
Another incentive why you should read as many laptop computer reviews as possible is that this way you will surely come across reviews made by some people who really use the laptop computer you are interested in. These types of ratings and assessments are the ones that will most probably present you with a truthful picture of how this laptop computer really works.
People who have actually used the computer will also have several points of view that big magazine reviewers may exclude from their articles or reviews. These kinds of laptop computer reviews will also give you an idea about whether you are thinking about getting a laptop computer that is best for you or whether you are thinking about buying something that is too sophisticated for your requirements and so unnecessarily expensive, or too basic, and therefore low-cost but useless.
Last but not least, different laptop computer reviews, particularly if they come from several sites and consumers, will differ in the sort of information they will give you about the laptop computer. What may be missing from one evaluation may be said in another.
The whole puzzle will not be ended until you finally own that computer. However, the greater the number of evaluations you read, the more accurate the image you will get. Above all, remember that ignorance of the details could cost you dearly and more than that, might even land you with a low quality laptop computer.

New computer viruses are being created, exposed and fought every day. These computer viruses are created often just to annoy us and to wreak mayhem in our computer systems. Below, I have described ten viruses currently cited as being the most widespread and being potentially able to cause the most damage. However, new viruses are being created daily, so this list is by no means complete. The only thing you can do is stay alert, keep your anti-virus software updated, and stay aware of the current computer virus threats.
Virus: Trojan.Lodear: A Trojan (from Trojan Horse) that tries to download files from a remote source. It will introduce a .dll file into the EXPLORER.EXE process causing system instability.
Virus: W32.Beagle.CO@mm: A mass-mailing worm that lowers security settings. It can delete security-related registry sub keys and may prevent admittance to security-related websites.
Virus: Backdoor.Zagaban: A Trojan that allows the compromised computer to be operated as a covert proxy and which may degrade network performance.
Virus: W32/Netsky-P: A mass-mailing worm which propagates by emailing itself to addresses harvested from files on the local drives.
Virus: W32/Mytob-GH: A mass-mailing worm and IRC backdoor Trojan for the Windows platform. Messages sent by this worm will have the subject chosen randomly from a list including titles such as: Notice of account limitation, Email Account Suspension, Security measures, Members Support, Important Notification.
Virus: W32/Mytob-EX: A mass-mailing worm and IRC backdoor Trojan similar in nature to W32-Mytob-GH. W32/Mytob- EX runs continuously in the background, providing a backdoor server which allows a remote hacker to gain admittance and control over your computer via IRC channels. This virus spreads by sending itself to email attachments gleaned from your email address book.
Virus: W32/Mytob-AS, Mytob-BE, Mytob-C, and Mytob-ER: This family of worm variations possesses similar characteristics in terms of what they are able to do. They are mass-mailing worms with backdoor functionality that can be controlled through the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) network. Furthermore, they can propagate themselves through email and through various operating system vulnerabilities such as the LSASS (MS04-011).
Virus: Zafi-D: A mass-mailing worm and a peer-to-peer worm which copies itself to the Windows system folder with the filename Norton Update.exe. It can then create a number of files in the Windows system folder with filenames consisting of 8 random characters and a DLL extension. W32/Zafi-D replicates itself to folders with names containing words like ‘share’, ‘upload’, or ‘music’ as ‘ICQ 2005a new!.exe’ or ‘winamp 5.7 new!.exe’. W32/Zafi-D will also display a fake error message box with the caption “CRC: 04F6Bh” and the text “Error in packed file!”.
Virus: W32/Netsky-D: A mass-mailing worm with IRC backdoor functionality which can also contaminate computers vulnerable to the LSASS (MS04-011) exploit.
Virus: W32/Zafi-B: A peer-to-peer (P2P) and email worm that will reproduce itself to the Windows system folder as a randomly named EXE file. This worm will test for the presence of an Internet connection by attempting to connect to google.com or microsoft.com. A bilingual, worm with an attached Hungarian political text message box which translates to ?We demand that the government accommodates the homeless, tightens up the penal code and VOTES FOR THE DEATH PENALTY to cut down the increasing crime.
