Before introducing the ‘walkie talkie’, Motorola had introduced during World War II, the first self contained and handheld device named ‘Handie talkie’. But the performance was not as good as the ‘walkie talkie’ which was an improvised version introduce later.

The prices as well as the range and quality of the devices vary depending upon its usage.
