A Fantastic Alternative – Mobile Phone Mount Critique
It is sold for a great price. It’s universal, so if you ever change phones you can continue using it.
You don’t have to worry about this one falling off like most others. If you have a problem it might be getting it off!
I like this product a lot. The only thing is it shakes a little too much and is at its last click for tightness on my droid incredible, but it still is a great design! It was a little bulky. I did not try the sticky dash mount, or the seemingly flimsy vent mount.
When you place the phone in the holder you need to compress the side holders till they lock. The side holders need to be released with what seems to be a spring loaded mechanism by depressing the button you see on the left side of the holder when you want to take the phone out.
I’m glad the vent clip isn’t the only piece in this because it’s totally useless. Any phone that has any weight to it (I have a big Droid 2) is going to pull the vent down, and it’s also going to pull the adjustment arm on the mount down as well.
Holds my Samsung Captivate phone secure and stays on the dash or vent. I was able to rotate the mount in all kind of ways, until I secured it the way I want. Product arrived when expected and is an awesome deal for the price. As a bonus, using the dashboard mount, now I can use my suction cup mount for my iPod and the vent mount for my phone.
I only use this when I’m using my phone as GPS or when it’s on Bluetooth. Overall the product was exactly what I expected. It works great for me now; however I am a bit worried if this will last. It would be better if this was mechanical with some sort of manual tightening mechanism instead of being spring loaded. The phone is secure over rough roads and with the case on; I am not worried if it falls in the car. Overall a great value compared to many other universal smartphone car docks. My charging cord works just fine while in this unit. Access to all phone functions is completely unobstructed.
It does a great job securely holding my HTC Evo and my Samsung Epic both in vertical and horizontal positions. I’m always concerned when buying any item that mounts to the windshield. If you don’t treat it bad it will last for a LONG TIME. You get 3 options for set up and you can use it whichever way you want…what the heck is better than that” Customer service is really lacking. It also came with a windshield mount, but that puts the phone too far from my face so no one can hear be properly.
It’s a perfect fit for the Droid X. Wand Scanner.
An Excellent Item, So Fantastic – Car Phone Mount Critique
The suction cup design is the best I’ve used. There is a wide variety of adjustments and configurations for how you can use this mount. But of course that hasn’t happened yet. Got this as a Christmas gift and am very happy. I guess for $15, I’m getting what I paid for. I’ll keep looking for a better option. I use the vent attachment with no problems. I highly recommend for anyone with a touchscreen smartphone.
This is one of those products. It is well thought out and well executed.
You just have to make sure when you mount it that it’s the way you want it because sometimes the weight of the device can make it tip forward but still stays on the mount. The suction clip is apparently designed to be used with the plate. The distance between the cup and the back of the cradle is so short (and limited as well in angle) that mounting on a wind shield basically doesn’t work. I use this mount daily for my HTC Evo 4G, a very heavy phone, and it works perfectly. I bought the Exomount at the same time, and this beats it on just about every level. Holds my Samsung Captivate phone secure and stays on the dash or vent. I was able to rotate the mount in all kind of ways, until I secured it the way I want.
I first tried the vent mount. It seems easy to install it on the vent. It also holds my HTC Droid Incredible and my wife’s Droid 2 perfectly.
I purchased this for my Droid X. The X fits allowing access to the USB port for charging.
Also, it would have been nice if it rested more sturdily on the vent. I guess it cannot be too tight because it is removable. It’s a great price, fully adjustable, and worry free. Get it and enjoy.
As a result I did not feel comfortable using it for my phone. The suction cup mount works perfectly and has two adjustment points that can be tightened up so your phone position will not move.
However, it generally works fine. MARBLE WOOD COFFEE TABLE.
We Like It A Whole Lot – Ram Cell Phone Mount Review
The plastic on the mount is a little weak but it does its job. I’ve had it for over 2 months and it works completely fine with no problems. Just holds like it should, like a tree branch. I don’t use the air vent attachment because those are just silly ways to break your vents, but the suction cup setup is the way to go and it works fantastic!
I also went to their facility in Altadena and picked up a motorcycle mount which works amazingly well. I use my Droid X with Google Maps for Navigation on the bike and with the motorcycle mount strap; I have no concerns of my phone leaving me. The build quality of this mount is very impressive for the price! The plastic feels solid, not flimsy, and the suction cup is stronger and larger than the one that came with my Garmin. But of course that hasn’t happened yet. Got this as a Christmas gift and am very happy. The air vents are too flimsy for the vent attachment and I have a matted-type dash so the sticky dashboard pad doesn’t stick. I was kind of disappointed because of that but the product still works really well. I haven’t quit using this since I got it. It’s certainly made juggling my phone while traveling easier!
I was skeptical when I ordered this windshield mount, even though it has gotten positive reviews. I’ve paid more than that at a mall for a mount that rattled when I drove and fell apart when I touched it the wrong way. I use mine in landscape orientation and the mount was easily rotated to that position. My charging cable at first was not able to fit because it plugs into the side of the phone, but with a switching around the side clamps it was able to accommodate it.
I WOULD recommend this to a friend. Very glad I made this purchase. I wouldn’t recommend this for Toyota owners unless you don’t mind using the windshield mount. I was skeptical at first when I purchased this, and even more so when I held this thing in my hands.
Overall, it’s very good quality. At this price, I hoped I was getting a deal on a mount for my Samsung Droid Charge, but the left arm completely blocks the USB so you cannot use a car charger with this mount. I know there is a HTC Evo dock designed for the HTC Evo but there are two problems with it, one it only works for the Evo itself and no other phones and two it will not work if your Evo has a case on it. I purchased this one, now I can leave my Otterbox defender case on and it will still fit in the mount, plus if someone else happens to be driving my car they can use the mount for their phone as well.
I don’t have that fear with the vent mounting. This is surprising good quality for the price. I am happy with it. It would have been nice if was a little less bulky (the body and the foam padding could be thinner).
Two weeks later one of the clips where you insert it into the vent broke off. REPLACEMENT BASEMENT WINDOWS.
The most reliable European models: the Peugeot 207 and Fiat Panda
A study conducted in all service sites in the UK shows that Peugeot and Fiat have the most reliable European models. The defect rate is the lowest in the entire automotive spectrum.
A British company has published the results of a large study regarding the level of reliability of the current European models in the UK.
After an analysis of service of all European models on the market between the ages of 3 and 7 years, there were found some surprising results, which largely contradict the popular legends related to car manufacturers on the Old Continent.
Leading the list of cars that are least likely to be damaged is 207, the French model boasting a “defect rate” of only 6% and an average repair cost 331 pounds (375 euros). Ranked second in the rankings is the Fiat Panda, the Italian model with an incident rate of 14% and average amounts for repairs only 195 pounds (221 euros). On the last podium position is a member of the family Peugeot 206 CC (17% / 210 euro).
Reliability of the ranking of the top five places are filled by European models Volkswagen Polo (18% / 215 euro) and the Renault Clio (21% / 196 euros).
At the other end of the scale are models that give customers big money, but not up to the level of reliability of cheap cars from the top. Thus, a 2002 Mercedes-Benz SL model has a defect rate of 47% and average repair costs go up to 842 euros.
In the top of the list stand and Range Rover 2002 model (53% / 566 euro), Renault Espace 2002 model (54% / 556 euro), Mercedes-Benz S-Class model 2006 (47% / 573 euro) and BMW 2001 to 2008 model 7 (45% / 583 euro).
According to the study, the rate of defects is not the only factor which was taken into account in determining the rankings. Thus, the reliability of each machine was exposed through an index of reliability (IRR) calculated by pooled analysis of key elements such as maintenance costs, the number of kilometers or, very importantly, the machine age and service costs. IRR index goes from 22 to 207, up from 349 for the Mercedes SL.
The study did not take into account patterns of non-European brands.

Choosing The Right Taxi Company
You can’t underestimate the importance of a reliable taxi firm. For some, a taxi is just something that takes them home late at night, or gives them a trip to the airport when they’re going off on holiday. For others, a taxi is a lifeline a ride to the local shops or to the doctors and regular customers establish good relationships with the drivers. You may need a taxi for:
A night out Theatre trips The school run Visiting the doctor or the hospital Helping with supermarket shopping Airport transfers
So, what should you look for when you’re choosing a taxi service?
A good taxi business will be licensed by their local authority. Requirements for licensing can vary, but authorities need to know that the cars used by the taxi company are suitable for carrying passengers, and companies may also have to submit proof of ownership and relevant service details for the vehicles, as well as copies of the driving licences of drivers working for the business. Once licensed, the company should display their licence number on the cab, so check that the company is licensed before you book with them.
Recommendations
Recommendation is often the best way to find a good taxi service. Find out which companies are used regularly by supermarkets and doctor’s surgeries, or ask neighbours which companies they would utilise. You will find that most people have come across a company with very bad or very good service and are happy to tell you who they use.
Cost
If you’re planning a long journey, make sure that the firm you choose is willing to agree a cost before you start. Most firms will have set prices for journies to city centres or airports and if you agree this price before you go, you won’t get any nasty surprises at the end. For shorter journeys, ask for a price and find out if additional charges apply after a certain time.
If you’re going to be using a taxi service on a regular basis, it makes sense to do a bit of research before you commit to a booking. That way, you can find a service that meets all your needs and is of real use to you.
